Yes. I have K9, which has always has been more pain then help, but the other users of this computer want to keep it on.
Is K9 the problem? I've had problems with other games being blocked by K9 before.
This is now occurring on vanilla too.
My parents MAKE me have k9. If that's the problem... i'm screwed.
So I have the same error as everyone else. It changes some times though. Sometimes its socket error and sometimes its the fail recv. Its not the isp because my brother is playing in the same house. its not K9 because i went into supervisor mode and it still didnt help. Of course i guess it still could be K9. Only way to figure that out i guess is to uninstall which isnt easy. I've installed/uninstalled java 5 times and the game. Also, I am using wireless card so i tried connecting directly. That didnt help either. I alotted more memory to the program. I turned off the firewall and the antivirus. I'm not sure what else to do. Seems like every thread i read suggests something else that doesnt help.
I recently started getting this same message. every 3-5minutes i am being kicked from the (bukkit) server i have been playing on for 2 years.. no change to system, internet or router even software is the same. This issue started after the 1.6 update.
I run a decent i5. Is there a conclusive answer to this topic, that can help those affected?
Thank you,
OD
I'm yet another person with the SAME issue. I've played MC since it was an alpha with very few issues that weren't caused by crappy computers or crappy internet. Now all of a sudden I get kicked with the same stupid messages you guys get. I disabled my firewall forever ago since I primarily use my computer for gaming and I've no full time anti-virus at all. My brother and I have used this server several times within the last couple days and we've only just started a new map. We're using the ATLauncher Yogscast complete modpack and we've had no issues with it until now. I connected just fine this morn aside from typical net issues since we live far apart and then when I logged out and got back in I started having problems.
Apparently, from the 6 forums and various sites I've trolled for solutions, there is no fix for it. If you don't have a kiddy net restricter, some sort of firewall/anti-v block, or a super specific bad internet provider there is no solution. Which blows for the hundreds of people who can no longer play MP servers.
This has zero to do with minecraft and everything to do with your network.
The TCP connection was reset. Many many things can cause this. security software that rips down "unauthorized" connections. ISP's attempting to rate limit their subscribers. Duplicate IP addresses on a network, router misconfiguration, network loops, flapping network links, devices that don't respect DHCP lease durations, on and on.

Surely SOMEONE has a solution! They have to!
