I just bought minecraft and downloaded it this week and when i try to open it nothing happens
no window of any kind appears
nothing new opens under task manager (cpu usgaes stays the same)
no black screen
no errors
no .minecraft folder is made
had mincraft on a different pc that died cant get it to work on my new pc
win 7 64 bit amd athlon (II0 x4 6gb ram 1tb hardrive
uninstalled java and reinstalled it (10/26)
have deleted and redownloade it 3-5 times
tried running as admin (am admin only user on pc)
feel like clicking minecraft doesnt do anything

minecraft.exe 270kb from .net not the server one
and have tried java 32 and 64 bit seperatly and togther

I have this same issue. I made and ran the batch file, to receive a sneaky-quick-closing-batch-window saying the following.
"Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object"
I have the most recent release of java as far as I'm aware as I updated it very recently. I've tried multiple times to uninstall it and re-install it, but it did not fix this problem.
EDIT: This is happening on the same computer that ran minecraft several days ago, I should point out.
