Hello, I seem to be having an issue with connecting to Minecraft.net with my client. Whenever I launch the .exe I end up getting stuck at a grey screen saying 'Loading Update News' which never actually loads. The page in particular is this.
I can connect to minecraft fine through my browser, I can even connect using the .jar downloaded from Minecraft.net. Which would be fine except I do plan on modding the game and most of the modded launchers require an exe which won't connect either.
I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials and have tried disabling my firewall altogether and adding minecraft specifically as an excluded item and it still won't connect. I've reinstalled Java multiple times, and I've launched the error tester which seems to think the game is working fine.
I should note I can't sign in either, it tells me I cannot connect to minecraft.net. Personally I'm stumped and can't figure out why this is happening, if someone could help me I'd appreciate it.
