Ok, so first off Im going to start of with System specs:
Age: 5 years Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
So as you can see, Im running a mac. Basically, I tried using magic launcher back in 1.2.5, and for some, inexplicable reason it broke minecraft. Once it had updated to 1.3, It was fine, if not a little glitchy, but playable. When I went to upgrade to 1.4.2 today, the dreaded after-login-blackscreen returned. No crash info, nothing. I have conjured a list of things I have tried:
Force Updating
Re-intalling
Taking the files from my other computer and replacing them(My other computer runs minecraft fine).
Using the latest instalment of Java
Replacing the lwjgl.jar file
EDIT: Tried Browser
I am completely out of ideas. Im going to try and patch Minecraft with the MCPatcher thing, to delete the META.INF file, but then I have no clue where to progress from.
There's no crash info at all? Even after waiting several minutes with the crashed app open?
This could be tricky. Try opening up Console, click on "All Messages", press the "Clear Display" button, and launch Minecraft (and login, etc). There should be some sort of java/Minecraft error message in console — reply to me with that error, enclosed in code tags.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did what you ask, and one thing caught my eye. At the bottom it says "... 21 more" But that was the last of the Minecraft related things happening. Strange. I also tried playing in browser, but alas, I got a white screen. Not much of an improvement.
