I've been getting these weird graphical glitches. There's things like "holes" in blocks where I can see caves and lava below, glitched polygons extending far from where they should be, and blocks showing more of terrain.png than they should. What's wrong?
What's your graphics card manufacturer? It might have something to do with Minecraft using your GFX card settings instead of its own. You can set it to use Application Settings, depending on what you have.
Try turning Advanced OpenGL on or off and see if either setting fixes your problem.
Also, if you can get to the Nvida control panel, try tweaking your settings for that.
Advanced OpenGL setting doesn't change anything. Neither does Fast/Fancy or Performance.
As for the NVIDIA control panel, that crashes whenever I try to load it.

Didn't he just say his Nvida control panel crashes when he opens it?
Yes, I did.
And I'll try reinstalling the control panel and disabling anti-aliasing and I'll post if that works; until then I'll use devcon to restart my video driver when it happens, as that seems to fix it temporarily. At least the couple times I upgraded my video drivers it worked temporarily; so restarting it should work too.
It might be something not only software related but hardware related, or it could be only software related. Are the blocks still existing but invisible or are the blocks just gone and all you have are the caves? Does it get worse as you make more worlds?
It doesn't seem to get worse as I make new worlds, but it goes away when I reboot or update my graphics drivers, only to come back a week or so later. (I leave my computer on so I don't need to wait for it to boot up the next day.)

Curse PremiumI'm just a Minecraft player that likes to give my opinion. Nothing special to see here.

Retired StaffAfter doing so, turn off Anti-Aliasing (AA) in the NVIDIA control panel.
