I tried the new 1.4.2 update and i got this while makeing a new world,i already force updated and re downloaded.Please help!
It's going to run minecraft from a different location. (What ever directory you put it in)
Unfortunatly, that's all the Mac support I'm going to be able to offer.
I've only had to use a Mac to play MC once, and it worked, with MultiMC for me..

Looks like the oracle java should work on anything after MacOS 10.7.3

Retired StaffTry deleting the minecraft/bin folder.
As long as you only delete the bin folder, all your saves will be fine.
Launch the game again, it will then replace more then what gets replaced with a force update.
Sorry, I see in your second post, you said you deleted the minecraft folder.
Try this. Try using MultiMC.
