Hi, I recently reinstalled minecraft after formatting and upgrading to win 7 64 bit (from win XP).
The game seems to be running fine however I can get no sound what so ever, this is not a problem with my sound settings I have triple checked that the sound is at 100% and the minecraft windows sound is maxed in my computers sound settings.
What I have tried:
Reinstalled (about 4 or 5 times)
Run as Admin
Launched the 64 bit client
Repled the OpenAL32 and 64 with correct versions from the official website.
Tried the whole f3+s thing, no luck.
Pretty much stuck here, no idea what I can do to fix this.

There is no problem with your device or Minecraft. If you are logging in the first time to Minecraft on that computer, that's probably you haven't downloaded resources (sound files) yet. They will be downloaded when you are ingame. I ran Minecraft from the command line, and I saw (I deleted .minecraft first) I was downloading the .../sheep1.ogg, grass1.ogg... (ogg is an audio format)so after a while, I've started to hear the grass walking sound. Fix:Play a while.
