You should switch back to Java 6 but Update 32 as they recommend. Java 7 uses more memory than Java 6, which exacerbates your memory limitations. The memory is not Vista or better either, it's a recommendation for running Minecraft on any OS whatsoever.
Java 6? How do I obtain that? Do I uninstall the Java I have no and reinstall a 32-bit version? How do I check if I have the "6" version of Java?
Don't worry about it, that comment was directed at the guy who hijacked your thread.
If it's a possible (temporary) solution to my server lag problem, I'll take it. It's also pretty awesome that I post videos showing mob movement lag and people say "Umm I don't see it." But I post a video of a damn Spider glitching through the roof of my house and it goes unmentioned.
And of course people stop throwing in anything helpful once an ACTUAL proof video is posted. That's amazing. Because a Spider sinking through blocks is totally nothing to talk about.
There's no point in talking about known, acknowledged bugs that have nothing to do with "lag" problems*.
This thread has now officially turned into another "whine whine whine I don't like the unification of single and multiplayer code" threads and should be locked since actual minecraft user base support is not desired nor apparently needed.
* Try to convince me how any amount of communication delay can cause either the client or server thread to think that a solid block is not solid. This is a bug** in communicating location information between the two threads.
** And as a bug we can not help you with it, because we are not Mojang, we are not Minecraft developers, so there is NO point in talking about it here.

Uhhh, no it... hasn't?
He just wants some simple answers, one of them being for why Spiders magically melt through floors for hardly any logical reason. There are other players out there who are playing the same version and supposedly have their games work seamlessly and nearly "bug free". He wants to know the connection to the players who don't get these bugs. Could it be a Java bug? Could it be PC hardware thing? I think that's what he's going for.
And he wasn't the first (nor second, nor third) person to make a thread asking this stuff.
No what he's doing is asking for help on a problem nobody else is experiencing, attempting to provide proof and showing existing bugs and glitches that everyone has, then raging because nobody believes him.
AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz quad core cpu
8GB DDR3 1333 memory
ATI HD6850 1GB PCI-E graphics
Win7 64 Pro SP1 (XP mode uses actual install of XP Pro 32 SP3, it's not a 'virtual' o/s)
Java 7 64, latest update.
Ever since the 1.3 update my singleplayer worlds have latency. Examples:
when I break blocks (notably blocks beneath me) they don't immediately disappear. There's a second or two delay before they vanish. It mostly happens when breaking blocks below the y height I am standing on.
creepers explode when I'm not in their blast radius. I don't take much or any damage when they blow up, but the game must think I'm within range when I'm not because they won't cancel.
when lightning strikes trees during a rain storm, the fires don't extinguish, if I wait for the rain to stop the fires are still burning and spread rapidly. If I exit and reload the world the fires have gone, but the damage they caused has not been undone. In this way I can lose huge amounts of jungle or forest.
animals slowly nudge through a fence and stand outside it, as though they escaped. They stay there for several seconds then quickly slide back through the fence to where they should be. They also sometimes fall through the block they're standing on then pop out. It seems to be the same sort of problem.
when trying to catch fish (which is almost impossible now) by the time the splash shows/sounds the fish has gone
I take damage from zombies and spiders even though they're still a block away from me. Like I'm swinging my sword at them but not hitting them, yet they're hitting me.

Well that just plain doesn't make sense, you have a CPU .1GHZ better than mine, same RAM as me, slightly worse graphics card, and 64 bit system as opposed to my 32 bit system and I have no issues at all.

These are issues with the current builds and not client issues that can be solved through technical support. I experience all of those things to some degree but still consider things to be running well. IMO these issues are due to the game running more on the multiplayer code because most of the single player code could not be used in the new 'merged' client. The multiplayer code was not updated and bug fixed as well as the old single player code had been, so it had some catching up to do and then on top of that they had to come up with an internal server system to host the multiplayer client for single player play. There were bound to be some issues with that transition not to mention the extra load on PC resources. Complaining here and saying your PC ran single player fine before 1.3 isn't helpful nor something the support team here can help you with other than to recommend measures you can take to squeeze out more resources from your PC as Hidinginthelight did. Use the Mojira bug reporting site for issues like those listed (most of them are on there already).
Yes i do not see any lag in your vids I think your single player server is fine.Yes i do not see any lag in your vids I think your single player server is fine.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
