Hi everyone! I'm new to this, but I figured since everybody on this forum plays minecraft, then there has to be someone between you that has had some personal experiences, or so, with playing minecraft on:
Mac Mini 2.6GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
1TB Serial ATA Drive @5400rpm
and the
Mac Mini 2.3GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
1TB Serial ATA Drive @5400rpm
and (last one), the
Mac Mini 2.5GHz dual-core intel Core i5
500GB Serial ATA Drive @5400rpm
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
I really need help knowing which can run Minecraft at which rate you give it, for example, a 10 is excellent, etc.. and some comments, because my HP has been with me for about 5 years and it's going to trash, and the Mac Airbook or Mac Pro is such a high price and I was looking for more of a low-budget, so I figured I could see if the Mac Mini was good at Minecraft, I don't really care about other games. (Also to add that in my country, the Macs cost about 2,800 for the one that costs 2,500 on apple.com)
PLEASE everyone who has had experience with these tell me what they thought, I've heard that the Mac Mini wasn't a use for gaming, but it's the most I can make out with my budget.
Thanks!
Just to add that (I guess advertise), a server of my friends and I, it's a pvp and faction, survival, has some cool buildings in spawn as well! Hope you pass by! 66.85.144.117:25565
I have never heard of a mac mini. But from the looks, they out-class any mac I have ever seen. But as I said, I have never heard of a mac mini so I don't know if it will run Minecraft.
If you are talking about the ones announced today, they will play minecraft, but not well. They utilize Intel 4000 graphics which are mediocre compared to a dedicated card. For the money, a much much better machine can be built, but you could also simply buy a cheap pre-built desktop and add in a ~$100 graphics card like a Radeon 7750 that will be capable of playing not only Minecraft, but most modern games at medium settings (which will still blow away any console system). However, if you are set on a mac, it will play, but don't expect to be able to run at 60 FPS all the time or use higher res textures.
When I said they cost about 2,800, that is the price here for the MacBook Pro, the Mac Mini's should cost up to 800 - 1000$
I also don't want to get anything bulky, or another HP or DELL, so I figured this could be my top priority at the moment and just hoped that Minecraft will run smooth, not necessarily at 60 FPS but something that doesn't lag!
