Hi, first of all, I didn't post this in the bugs forum because I can't find anyone else with this problem and I think it's rather something wrong on my end than a bug.
So ever since 1.2.5 I've had the problem of huge numbers of ocelots and wolves spawning around me constantly (at that point it was reported as a bug). There are at least 50 at any given time. This makes mining hard and farming impossible. They trample my crops and prevent me from herding any animals through anything that's not a completely flat terrain. Killing them only solves the problem for minute or two and for that I have to go creative because killing 50+ angry wolves is nearly impossible.
Ever since I installed the version when it first happened, I've completely formatted my pc, so minecraft has been reinstalled, as well as java and everything else on the pc.
I don't currently have internet on my minecraft pc, so I downloaded the 1.4 minecraft.jar file and pasted it in. The problem remained persistant throughout.
In 1.2 - 1.3 I used a mod that disabled the natural spawning of wolves and ocelots and you had to craft eggs to get some. Is there a mod available for 1.4 that removes them? (I don't care if I can't craft them, I never use them anyways).
I use:
Minecraft 1.4 vanilla (legit, not cracked - although I have tried it to see if a cracked one had the same problem)
Java 64bit
Win 7 64bit
Does anybody else still have this problem or have any suggestions? Like I said, mods are fine but I couldn't find one. I dont want to keep playing in 1.3.2 :,(
I have the same problem, every single time i create a new world like 30 - 40 wolves or ocelots spawn near me, it's so annoying, they keep spawning even if i kill them idk what to do :'c

Same here, though it only really got bad for me when i installed forge. And i know a lot of other people are having the same problem (i keep running across posts on various sites, but never a true fix. the only fix i know of only works if you aren't using any other mods. (ps, would you like a link to that post?)
@TrinityGamer, yeah please that would be great. I don't use mods - and even if I did, I'd happily abandon them to solve this problem.
For anyone else with this problem, I currently use this fix: http://www.minecraft...aft-spawn-eggs/ but it's not available for 1.4 yet. So I'm stuck in 1.3.2
EDIT: Out for 1.4.2 XD
Works 100% so far. Remember that you still have to kill the existing wolves/ocelots after applying fix if you continue using a world where you had this problem. The fix takes out natural spawning, not the mobs themselves.
