After I open Minecraft and login, the screen becomes black and remains frozen until I have to force quit.
There is no error report, and this just began to happen after I upgraded RAM memory. Prior to installing 3gb, I had 1gb, and Minecraft worked fine for a while (it crashed after about 1-3 minutes of gameplay, which is why I upgraded RAM).

Here are my Desktop specs:
-SOFTWARE: Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 (32 Bit) - Server Pack 3

-MODEL: Sony Vaio VGC-RC210G

- PC SPECS: Intel Pentium D CPU 3.00 Ghz
3 GB RAM (my pc model - according to the manual - only supports up to 2GB RAM; however, I found 4 RAM Slots, so I placed 2 1Gb sticks and 2 512 MB RAM sticks, and my PC seems to read them just fine)
RADEON X300 series (display adapter)

-Minecraft 1.3.1

- Java 6 Update 35

Like I said earlier, I don't know if it is because I placed to much RAM on my PC or if its a software issue.

I now updated to Java 7 update 9. I also used Force Update and still, it remains frozen. There is no error report either; once I log in, the screen is black and it freezes, so I have to use task manager to force quit. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
