For the past few months, ever since the 1.3.1 update, Minecraft hasn't been saving properly for me.. For example, I can spend a lot of time building something, putting things in chests, then "save and quit", and come back the next day to find all of my work un-done, almost as if I had never done anything in the first place. This is extremely annoying with chests, as every item i put an item in them the items end up disappearing. Because of this glitch it is making minecraft impossible to play, and I end up having to revert back to 1.2.5 in order to somewhat play, which isn't even enjoyable as I'm missing out on all the new updates. I've already tried running Minecraft in compatability mode for Windows 95 (I'm on a Windows XP 32 bit) and it doesn't seem to help.. Does anybody have any solutions/suggestions for this problem?
Run minecraft as an administrator, and go to %APPDATA% in your file browser, and edit permissions for the '.minecraft' folder so that read and write is allowed.
However if this does work fine for 1.2.5, then file permissions shouldn't be an issue. Try running minecraft from command prompt and pasting the results here.

Ok, I checked the minecraft folder and right now it says "read only", I'm not sure if thats what it's supposed to say or not or how to change it.. As far as running it in cmd, I currently already do that through a .bat file (to give it more ram), but i tried it anyway with the 1.4 prerelease jar and it seems to be running better than before, but it still seems to not be saving properly. I'll try running it in cmd and compatability to see what happens, but even so this is very annoying if I have to do all this to even play Minecraft.
