I don't play on Mac (It isn't really meant for gaming and it sucks) So I don't know if there is a trash bin. If so open it up and take out your .minecraft. Then go to your saves folder and take out that world(You can delete your old .minecraft if you just wanted your save). Then open the Minecraft launcher and re-install Minecraft.
There are two 'minecraft.jar' files. One is located in your '~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin' folder, and one launches the game. Either way, to get both of them back, just redownload minecraft from the website, and force update your game. You won't lose your saves.
I have a mac and accedentally deleted my minecraft.jar and now i got it back.

I know nothing about macs but I do know that the world that got misplaced can be recovered ONLY IF you have not emptied your Recycle Bin after that mis-placing occurred, so if you have not emptied your Recycle Bin just go into your Recycle Bin and find your misplaced folder then right click and go "Restore" but if you did empty your Recycle Bin then I am sorry to say this but you can not recover it, fore it is gone forever.
