Problem in LAN multiplayer (Pre1.4)

I just updated to the pre relase 1.4 of minecrat and i already put the correct ip on hosts.bu on ubuntu but when another tried to connect it can but ..... then suddendly it crashes . On my client i see that the connection has been done but the player is frozen and after a secons it gets disconnected. so any ideas ofor solving it?
