Help! For the past few days I haven't been able to play on myfavorite world! I've been playing this world for months and I'd be pissed if I can't ever play it again.
I can log in just fine and load any of my older worlds. When I click on my world, it shows the loading screen (loading world building terrain) and it will remain on that screen for a while. After that, one of three things happens.
1. It switches back to the main menu as if I just logged in (sometimes frozen).
2. An error report shows up.
3. As of recently, it will "load" the world, having me immediately falling into the void, but not dying. After about 20 seconds of falling, I somehow am right where I saved. However, nothing can be interacte with (pressure plates, crafting table, etc) and chunks of the world are missing (not like lag, but actually missing). I am able to move around though.
Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem; Exception in server tick loop

Force updating didn't work and I have a dual core processor.
I have the same problem. It only happens when I enter a end portal in my main world. After i enter the portal the game crash with a "Exception in server tick loop" message. Then it happen every time I try to load the world again. I have a backup of the world before I enter the portal but I want to be able to go to the end. I have been looking for a fix for a couple of weeks now.
I managed to fix it, but I don't know if it's the same problem, only that the error message was the same.
In my case it was only the End that was corrupted. I opened it with MCEdit and selected all chunks, then I deleted all entities. It was just a chance by me, didn't know if it would change anything, but it worked!
