okay i'm sure this has been talked about before, but i have yet to find a good answer to this issue. i'm running minecraft on a macbook pro (2008). i am running osx moutain lion, and have the latest updates for both minecraft and osx. if i begin playing the game, it will run for about 3 mintues or so and then freezes the entire system, i then have to do a hard reboot. i have tried turning the shading off, rendering to tiny, and put my system to the best graphics option instead of battery life. i still get this issue, if anyone knows what else i can do, OR point me in a direction that would be great. if you need more info let me know. thanks in advance.
okay so i tried what you said by forcing the update, but now my system crashes even faster than before. as for the shading i ment to say it is the smooth lighting, sorry about that. any more help would be great.
