I have recently updated my computer and now minecraft doesn't want to work. It gets past the loading screen and just goes black, no crash or error report just a window filled with black. Don't have any mods installed and done a fresh install to see if that would help, also uninstalled and re installed java but still no luck. Any help would be much apreciated.
And I still need you to paste the results of the error logging script.
OpenAL initialized is the last thing that the script attempts do do before starting up minecraft.
So there is a lot of info before that that would be outputted into the window, that we can use to diagnose your problem.
At that point you should close the black minecraft window.
Copy All the info in the error report window. (It'll actually tell you how to do after you close out minecraft.)
And paste everything back here.
We can only help if you give us the info we ask for, the info we need to even begin attempting to help.

Well, what I see there is that there is a problem with your java install.
The script isn't able to locate your java and run it.
Start by removing any installations of java that are present on your system. (remove programs in the control panel)
Then install a new copy of java from this link: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
You're on a 64bit OS so make sure to grab the 64bit version of java.
If there are still problems after that, run the script again, and post the results again.

This shouldn't be an issue, but just to eliminate it as a possibility, try updating your video drivers.
Yours are a few version old, but they should still be recent enough that they work.
Like I said lets just eliminate it. Most current drivers for your graphics card are here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/49949
Hmm. Really starting to run out of ideas on this. The error logger looks like the game is running.
The last couple things I would recommend trying are:
First, go into the .minecraft folder, and delete the bin folder and the options.txt file. Try running the game again.
If it still isn't working try disabling you Anti-Virus and running the game. (I wouldn't do this option if you downloaded the exe file from any site other then minecraft.net)
Beyond that it might be a faulty video card. I don't really see anything else. You really are getting no error, for all intents and purposes the game is running, you just can't see it.
You say you recently updated your computer before this started to happen. Did you mean Windows updates or what? Please elaborate.
What are you using as a monitor and what type of connector are you using for it? (DVI, VGA etc.)
You say you tried reinstalling minecraft but did you just force update or what? I suggest renaming your .minecraft file as .minecraft_old then go to minecraft.net and download a fresh copy of the launcher there and use it to reinstall. This will make sure you don't have a bad legacy launcher and a true clean install. I suggest you try this again due to the fact that your original post said you reinstalled java however for some reason Java wasn't actually working when Hidinginthelight had you run the reporting tool.
Overall Hidinginthelight has did a great job here and I agree with him that it appears that Minecraft is now running fine, it just isn't being displayed on your monitor for some reason.
A few other random ideas are to right click your launcher and tell it to run as administrator and to run a scan on your computer to make sure you don't have a virus.
With the updating of my computer, I updated pretty much everything and went from windows xp to using windows 7. As in the monitor i'm using, a led monitor. And I did all the things you had suggested and still getting nothing, even after a clean install and after a virus scan witch came up empty.
Here's a thought. Make sure Minecraft isn't running on your integrated graphics instead of on your GTX285? I'm kind of grasping at straws here. Usually in your bios you can disable the integrated graphics altogether, but if not you might look through your Nvidia control panel or even setup a profile for minecraft and tell it to use your video card instead.
I don't really know much about BIOS so I kind of leave that be, but what would I be looking for in the Nvidea control panel. Or how do I set up a profile for minecraft
Problem is now fixed, it must have been something on the computer conflicting with minecraft because after a format and re-install minecraft now works fine for me

Retired StaffOpenAL initialized is the last thing that the script attempts do do before starting up minecraft.
