Well, I don't get AT ALL why Minecraft is lagging.. I am getting 20-40 FPS, and doesn't really go higher.. (I think I hit 50 once, but I was on flatgrass and looking at the sky) Anyways, why it's so weird that I'm not getting higher FPS is because I can run Metro 2033, DX11, all maxed at 40 FPS..
Another thing is that my friend has a Phenom + GTX 560 rig (My card is a little better than his) and he runs the game at 180+FPS..
My full specs:
AMD Athlon II x4 (3.0GHz)
8GB DDR2 - 1066
ATI Radeon HD 6870
120GB Vertex3 SSD (what MC is running off)
Any suggestions? My best guess is that MC is horribly optimized with ATI graphics drivers.. But 40 FPS, to me, is kinda unplayable.
It could be that your game is restricting the FPS. I'm not sure what the solution is though because I've never ran into the problem. I'm running it on my 2009 Macbook Pro 13" with Optifine and I'm getting between 30-60 FPS, so there's no reason why yours computer should be having the same performance.

Yeah, I should be getting at least 120FPS, from other people that have my card.

Retired StaffIf I ramDisk and OC the GPU a bit I get 250+ FPS. But no real need for 250 over 120, so I just leave it stock.
