My 9 yr old son has done something to the program which causes the hammer not to work when using the mouse. The fwd and reverse work on the keys and everything else except on the mouse to make the hammer or axe work. I clicked on options and went to controls and when it got there it was blank, I pushed the Esc control on the keyboard and this caused a message to say that minecraft has crashed. How do I fix this and I have attempted to download minecraft that many times with no success and the same problem is still there. I would like some advice so that my son can play again.

Thanks for that, this occurs in every game he has saved and ran the test as recommended, however, when I hit the enter key to save it the curser just keeps going down. How do I save it so that I can send you the results. I have started a new game from scatch, however, the same happens where I can not get the hammer or axe to move up and down with the mouse key.
