Hi,
Whenever I start Minecraft and either go to a multiplayer game or start a singleplayer game, it crashes.

Umm... you tried Force Updating? It's a good method and it solves a lot of problems!
1) Go into the Launcher
2) Click on Options
3) Click on Force Update
4) Log in and let it redownload Minecraft for you.
I've done that and reinstalled everything 6 times.
