I hope I am posting this in the correct forum, if not, please let me know, I will move it to the appropriate place.
The issue I have is this:
I was paying for server hosting through RedstoneHost. We had approximately 10-15 people. We built a great world. Life came up, we couldn't continue hosting. I just copied/pasted the map into my SP saves file.
What I want to know is this:
Can I/How do I use the command to /give (spawn) items to myself?
commends are only available in ssp when the world is generated with the cheats turned on.
And if the world was generated before the ssp commands were added to the game then they definatly won't be usable.
Maybe adding NEI (Not enough items) to your client will be best so you can spawn items in
Download and run multimc
create a new instance and run it. close minecraft.
right click instance and select edit mods, click the MCForge button, and select second one (4.2.5.305)
then go here http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/909223-125132-smp-chickenbones-mods/
download codechickencore and nei
using the edit mods option again place both these files into the coremods folder, and run the game
you'll need to move/copy your map into the saves folder for that instance.

I was all good until this part here. I took the old zip file of our world data from the MP server, and simply dropped and dragged it into my saves for SP and that worked fine, but I didn't have the ability to use commands.
I ran the above listed utilities as instructed, and in MultiMc I hit "Add", navigated to the folder, and attempted to add three folders from our old server, world, world_end and world_nether. It pops up with a warning message "Not a valid save - This folder does not contain a level.dat file. Continue?"
When I log into the game, it still shows that nothing is there. Did I seriously screw this up? Sorry for all the trouble
I am not sure what I did wrong, but I dont want to bother you further. I will just use the old MP player map in SP and do so without being able to have the /give command.
Thanks, though.

Is that still possible?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Moderatorgimma a min to work out what to dook got it
you hve 3 folders, world, world_the_end and world_nether correct?
take the folder called DIM-1 from the world_nether, and copy this into the folder world
then do the same for DIM1 from world_the_end
now the world folder will have its own dat (the region folder) and the data for the end and nether (DIM1 and DIM-1)
copy the world folder into the saves directory and it should now load in the game
Thanks, though.
