I just purchased minecraft yesterday - my son plays it on his iPod and has been bugging me to load it onto the computer.
We are 100% macs in the house - no PC's at all.
The Mac book pro is running Mac OS 10.8.2 (latest) and Java 1.6.0_35.
When I try to launch from a web browser (Safari or Firefox), I just get lots of security warnings. If I say OK to all of them I just get a blank rendering window. I tried the hack holding command and shift while hovering over the window, but it didn't work.
I tried with the launcher, which fares better, but not much. It works, but after I use a key, the keys stop working. For instance, I can walk forward (w) until I release the key, but then I can't walk forward any more. For some reason, jumping (space) keeps working, but after the first few jumps, the graphics get erratic.
Hmm...
Try updating your LWJGL.
What you do is you replace all the LWJGL files in Application Support/minecraft/bin with the ones you will have just downloaded.
Simple?
OK, tried updating that (including updating the jnilibs too), and it got worse. However, after restoring the original files and rebooting, it seems to be working now. Who knows? Thanks for your help.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
