For the record. This is the first time I have ever played minecraft so I am not certain I did it correctly. I just downloaded the windows file and ran it. Seems rather small to me though.
Don't know what else then. Also a tip for the forums: Hit the quote button when you want to reply to someone directly. The only time you don't want to hit the quote button is when you're replying to the first post. Just reply without hitting quote for that.
Hitting quote gives a notification to the person you're replying to.

Yes I checked that list. Does anyone have a list of ports I should open up? I am behind a pretty hefty Cysco Firewall. That me be causing the update issue.

Problem may be solved. I navigated to the folder listed as my install Dir and deleted the only 2 files in that folder. Then relaunched and it started updating. Now I just need to update video card drivers haha.. what a mess I am
