I am unable to start the minecraft launcher. I have updated java and have tried running it in admin, and several other things unsuccessfully. I am experiencing this on both of my computers. They are both running Win7 64 and both have 4gb+ of RAM.

When I double click the launcher shortcut, the computer becomes laggy as hell and very unresponsive. When I am finally able to load the task manager, javaw.exe is using anywhere from 60k-90k of memory and the computer remains mostly unresponsive until I end that process. It is doing the exact same thing on both machines, and any fix that I have found in researching this have not resolved this. Alot of the problems I found reported were issues where it would freeze or lag when the game was loading, but I cant even get to that point.

Any ideas?

They are both on the desktop. I was reading the report and saw the warning at the bottom. I then dragged minecraft.exe onto the batch file, and now it is hung. Here is where it is at now:

I cant even get to the login. When I run minecraft.exe, the machine becomes almost unresponsive and that is as far as I can get. A few times, the launcher screen has come up, but I cannot get any cursors in the username line.

Java 7 update 7, both 32 and 64 bit. I have tried one, and then the other, and then both again. I tried Java 6 also, but all had the same results.actually, looks like I only had 64 bit installed that time. I am installing 32 bit now, but like I said, I have tried it with both.
