I just got my copy of minecraft today and when i started playing i was only getting about 30 fps. I searched around and tried about every possible thing i could. I tried running 64bit version, OptiFine, giving it more memory, and spoutcraft...none of these improved my fps at all. I leave my pc spec below hope you all can help me fix this issue.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 16GB RAM
Graphic Card:ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
If i missed any specs let me know so i can list them.
I have an FX-6100 and a HD 6570 and I don't lag at 1080p with 32-bit Java without any mods (before I installed 64-bit Java).
Are you sure you're using your graphics card instead of integrated graphics?
With your Graphics Card (Radeon HD) all of your graphics should be set to the highest performance setting. (not in-game necessarily but in your control panel for graphics [Catalyst Control Centre?]) Since your i7 (I believe) has Intel Integrated Graphics 3000 HD (absolute rubbish) it might be trying to use it for everything (definitely wouldn't work for any slightly-acceptable framerate).
I edited some of my settings and now i get 300 fps in minecraft without OptiFine...thanks!
