My name is ItsLittlePotato, and i would like to seek help for my fps problem.
I am currently running on 1.3.2 and my FPS just hovers at 5-10 fps. It is very low and obvious to me as the chunks ain't loading until 10 seconds later. This is a big problem to me as I play a lot of survival maps with sieges and I simply die after 30 seconds because the fps is too low. Does fps affect lag? I tried to use optifine but then the fps is still that low. I would like to seek help. My specs are: Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB, Software OS X 10.8.2. I would be overjoyed if anyone drops by and lend a helping hand!

If Minecraft has always been laggy, then your GPU might be your problem. Typically intel makes very bad gaming GPUs, an with only 384MB, that doesn;'t help. Still, you should be able to have higher fps then that. Try turning render distance down, graphics to fast, use Optifine, and check how much memory is allocated to Minecraft, like OB51D14N_M1N3R said. If there isn't at least 512MB allocated to Minecraft, you NEED to allocate more. Look up a tutorial on YouTube or Google on how to allocate more memory for Minecraft, or on 'How to make a batch file the speeds up Minecraft'
Any questions, just ask, preferably by inboxing me on YouTube.
Thanks,

Edit: Your chunks loading slow is most likely a combined problem of your processor and RAM allocated to Minecraft, if allocating more RAM doesn't help, then it is for sure your processor. You *MIGHT* be able to speed it up a little by opening your task manager and finding the "javaw.exe*32" process under the processes tab. right click it, and "set priority" to high. That MIGHT help a little bit.
