If you see a "Minecraft" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash. warning, you have to set Gatekeeper to allow Minecraft as it is not yet certified as coming from a known developer. There are two ways:
in System Preferences > Security & Privacy set 'Allow applications downloaded from:' to 'Anywhere'. You have to click the lock in the bottom left corner, the one that reads 'Click the lock to make changes.' Start Minecraft.app. Once running, you may re-set Gatekeeper to 'Mac App Store and identified developers'.
right-click Minecraft.app and choose 'Open'. You'll be presented with a confirmation dialog.
You only have to do this once, you'll be able to double-click Minecraft.app on subsequent starts.
I don't own a Mac and have no knowledge of it; so I googled it.
Why is this? Last time I tried was today, the previous time was over a week ago. Help! I want to play Minecraft so badly. D:
