So, since about Aug 6th, when 1.3 came out, i haven't been able to log into minecraft using the download client. I can connect to the browser client on minecraft.net but whenever im in a game the pause menu opens up and then it goes crazy on me. I've tried search all around the web for fixes and nothing has worked. I even installed a earlier version on Java, Ive tried deleting my ,minecraft folder, adding it to me exceptions list.
It sounds like you have a anti-virus or firewall that is blocking the minecraft exe.
If you use AVG disable the link scan portion of it and try then.
You can also try using the error logging script in this thread. It might give some insight as to what the problem is.

Sounds to me like you got blocked out, would your parents/administrators have maybe blocked minecraft, or gaming in general?
