Hi, does anybody know why i cant allocate more RAM into minecraft? I always get the "Could not create java virtual machine" error. This are my system specs
Please someone help me
You can't give java all of your available memory. That doesn't leave any memory for the rest of your system.
Unless you have been getting 'Out of Memory' errors, there really is no need to give it more memory.
Vanilla minecraft, (no mods, no texture packs) runs best for most people when given 512mb.
I run with 20+ mods and a 64x texture pack, and get my best results with -Xms768m -Xmx1.5G
There would be very few situations that require anyone to give more then 2G.
This portion of this thread gives a decent break down of when to increase or decrease the memory that you allocate

I got a lot at least 3 out of memory errors every day, this really pisses me off. T^T
And do you guys think i would be able to run sonic ether shadows mod with my system specs? I tried it a couple of days ago but i cant make the screen bigger because guess what?-out of memory- However in the windowed mode runs at 15-25 fps with sphax 128 and matmos sound stuff
If you are getting out of memory error, using 2g of ram (or more) it is likely something else is wrong with your install.
I'd go into the .minecraft folder, and delete the bin folder.
Launch minecraft again and let it download everything again. If you had any mods installed you'll need to add them back as well.

No it gets out of memory with the default ram minecraft uses, I want to put more for this reason.
