Hello, I have been having a problem with Minecraft for some time now, hoping that the latest java updates would fix the problem. They have not. My problem is I can play single player perfectly fine, but when I try to connect to an online server (any server) it will get stuck at connecting to server. If I back out to the main menu and try again, Minecraft freezes.

Now this is where it gets weird. Once I go back to the main menu or exit, I will have a permanent javaw.exe process running that will not close. I cannot even kill the process by ending the process or ending the process tree. It just sits there taking up resources. I have had around 4 javaw.exe processes open and unable to close any of them. If I play single player, everything is normal and javaw.exe closes as it should. I cannot find any solutions online or any fix to this problem.

I hope this problem is not too unique that I am unable to play Minecraft online.

i have the same problem. i can connect to servers but only once, if i log out of a server then try log back in then my minecraft freezes. so i close minecraft but the javaw.exe is still at the top if the list in the processes under task manager. this is using up valuable RAM. so after about 3-4 times of minecraft freezing i have to restart my computer. this has only been happening in recent times. i never used to have this problem.

i hope that the problem can be fixed soon
