I've been having this one recurring problem on a single server run by a friend of mine. First off, here are the machine specs of both computers, Server and Client.
Connection: Irrelevant, Tried from multiple locations and connections.
Now, the issue:
When connecting to this server (and only this server) I experience immense lag for approximately 30 seconds before everything "Catches up". Once caught up I am able to play normally with no issues with a few exceptions.
When using a Nether Portal, the /home, /back, or /spawn commands to travel any sort of distance that isn't currently loaded, the lag begins again, all movement is ignored, broken blocks reappear, and it generally acts as if I haven't moved or performed any actions. Once it "catches up" any switch or pressure plate I hit is rapidly activated the amount of time I attempted to use it. However blocks broken have not actually been broken.
When attempting to enter the arena via the ArenaMob server add-on, It transports me there, and instantly disconnects me from the server. The first time in which this happened I received the following error:
"Connection Lost Internal exception: java.net.SocketException:Software caused connection abort: recv failed"
The second and every other subsequent attempt to use the arena returned this error:
"Connection Lost: End of Stream".
According to the server owner, and the other players I am the ONLY person that experiences these issues, and this is the ONLY server I experience it on.
The troubleshooting I have thus far attempted is as follows:
--Reinstalling Minecraft
--Reinstalling Java (Tried both 32bit and 64bit versions.)
--Deleting Minecraft.jar
--Deleting jinput.jar
--Force Updating the Minecraft Client
--Using different machines running both 64bit Win7 and 32bit Win7.
--Using different locations and connections.
--Lowering Graphics settings to Bare Minimum,
--Allocating both more, and less RAM to the client.
--Updating Java
--Disabling Antivirus/Firewall
Please note I am not running any sort of extraneous network hosts such as Hamachi.
At this point I'm inclined to believe it isn't a Client Software or Hardware issue, nor is it an ISP issue on my end... There could be other issues of which I am not aware.
Any help on this situation would be appreciated!
There may be other things I've attempted that I have neglected to remember... O.o
Restarting router does no good, and the server owner is very obtuse about new mods. As I am the only one having this issue, they are all of a mind "Why fix something that isn't broken? You're the only one having the issue. YOU fix it." and yet are uncooperative when I suggest ways that might help if they have to be done server-side.
What type of Java does the server use? It's a Java error, obviously. And the reason why you get "End of stream" is because the server doesn't want to stream your data in for a limited time.
