i stopped playing minecraft for a while due to the memory crashes it was giving, i tried increasing the "heap" using recimended batch files and tutorials posted all over this forum, nothing helped. i uninstalled java and just stopped playing but i do miss the game greatly and wish to play again. the issue i have is which Java do i use, there are a few different javas listed (ie SE 6 or 7, ect). i even tried using 64bit versions which would match my OS and still it was giving me errors and memory crashes just seconds after starting the game.
i want to play, but i want to play a game the works like it used to, flawlessly.
just tried that, and i get a gray screeen and it refuses to connect to the minecraft server, its just a string of HTML coding that states loading updates then claims failure. never had this issue with 32bit OS.
seriously, its trying to read IPv6 with java? what a loop hole, i just installed the 32bit java from java.com and its running now..., i wonder if we can convince Jeb and Notch to see about getting this game off java at some point. now im going to test it and see how long before i get a memory crash.

just did this, and it seems to be working, although should i uninstall the 32bit java i have or leave that alone for the web browsers i use?
