Can't open minecraft on mac

So I went to the minecraft website and downloaded it on my macbook air, and it showed up in my downloads. I tried to open it and it gave me a message that read "minecraft is damaged and cannot be opened. You should move it to the trash." Has anyone else gotten this before and how can I fix it. Also, the download is supposed to be 270 kb but mine was only 149 kb.

Well, your internet most likely crashed or the download paused. I would try redownloading minecraft from www.minecraft.net

Well I tried downloading it about 4 times and it gives the same message each time, so I don't think that is the problem.

Do you have a data-limit on how much you can download?
Also, what browser are you currently using?
