I have played minecraft for about 2 years now. I have just recently ran into a problem, When i attempt to start up Minecraft it doesn't work at all. I have tryed reinstalling it twice and nothing... Help?

Make sure you have the most recent version of Java installed And that it is either 64x or 32x (depending on your system)

Also, folks are going to want your system specifications...

ive recently updated java twice and it didnt help at all. (running vista btw)

on first attempt it started up fine ( surprising me beyond belief) BUT when i tryed it again it failed and this is what showed up

Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/ClassNotFoundException: error in opening JAR file <zip file is empty>
C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\lib\rt.jar

Now WHAT???
