I've been randomly building on my server on a empty (void) map, then suddenly some weird things started happening. Everything looks fine here:



When I move a bit further into a new chunk, that's when these strange bugs started kicking in:



Weird, huh? Notice that:

• The lighting became slightly darker, like in the evening.
• The blocks at the edge now have an unlit side.
• I can still build in this broken chunk, but all blocks are invisible.

I tried everything, from relogging, to restarting the server, and even both at once. Sometimes the bug disappears, but then it comes back seconds later. The texture pack isn't the problem.

I'm running this on a bukkit server, with nothing but worldedit and essentials.
What's happening here? Thanks you so much for any help!

UPDATE

Why don’t you try moving it from a server to a single player without any plugins, mods, etc. if this glitch does not occur when you do that it has to do with the plugins or the server.

^This. And try re downloading minecraft and a new Bukkit server. Also, maybe try it without the texture pack, who knows it might work. Then re install Java if none of this works.

I'm sure this is an issue with the game. It's happening again! Both time I did:

Created flatworld.
//removenear grass 500
//removenear dirt 500
//removenear bedrock 500
//cyl glass 5
Started building from the platform.
