Yes I'm a noob, and yes I'm confused. No matter what I do, it seems y minecraft is lagging. I downloaded "Magic Launcher" and added the "OptiFine" mod. My system is a good, new system...what am I missing? I know I am making this more difficult then it needs to be. Here are my system specs
HP Touchsmart computer
Intel Core i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30 GHz
4 GB ram
Windows 7
Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics Family
Memory: 1696 MB
Display: 1920 X 1080
Your system may be new but I wouldn't say it is that good.
You have an okay CPU, maybe not the best for gaming but it should do.
Your GPU is integrated. This is really bad if you're intending to game a lot on your computer.
Anyway, what I would do is, get a dedicated GPU and put in in your system.
Trust me, if you get a good dedicated GPU, your minecraft with run without any lag whatsoever.
The problem is that my computer is still under warranty and I don't want to go cracking it open. Honestly though, I don't really play games, my boyfriend got me into minecraft on the 360, so I decided to try it on here (Im more of a computer person). Even with my card being integrated, it still seems to exceed the needed memory (or at least, that what I seem to be reading...
