OK so whenever i play minecraft or single or multiplayer, every 10 minutes or so i get minecraft has run out of memory. IT IS SO ANNOYING! I really like minecraft, and this ruins it. I get about 108 fps on average. I run regular minecraft. I tried with no mods and with 1 mod. I have JAVA 64-bit, i also tried 32-bit. Nothing helps. Any answer would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
Are you running an HD Texture pack? Those tend to require more Memory.
Make a .bat file named anything inside the folder you have Minecraft.exe and paste this inside the file,
"c:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1536M -Xms1536M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame
You may need to change this depending on what version of Java you have.
Keep in mind you can also up the amount of Memory used again by changing the numbers in "-Xmx1536M -Xms1536M", don't allocate more memory then you have, and also don't allocate to much memory as it will make your game lag because of how Java handles memory usage.
I am running windows Xp. i have 4 GB of ram, I have tried so many steps. I tried creating a bat file and running minecraft straight threw he bat file. That does not work either. I tried going into my control panel and changing the run time parameters for java to change it to my RAM setting (not all of it though.) Nothing works-_-
I tried deleting all versions off java like you said, I still get the error. I also look at the advanced settings in minecraft, where is 512? If you are talking about the memory part my settings were at 1024, I tried raising it a little and i still get the error
