When ever i launch minecraft, after the login page it goes black and crashes and says: java™ platform se binary has stopped working. I also get a message that says:
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

All you need to do is update your video drivers very simple fix go to this link http://support.amd.c...ages/index.aspx
then you can click Automatically Detect and Install
I'v done this multiple times and it never seems to work. I don't know if i'm doing something wrong or what but every time it doesn't work

Your video card is to out of date they stoped all driver support for your video card in 2009 you either need a new computer or anther video card. I'm going to say new computer the new video cards are PCI-e 2.0 and 3.0 they wont fit into the AGP slots.

I got an HD Radeon 6850 and installed it. It was working fine until the screen starting shifting some times and then it went black, sometimes blue. It obviously had signs of it working cause i was playing games i couldn't play before. I would start to have to mess around with the drivers for it until i got it to work and then when it did work i would have to be in a game for it to stay working. Do you have any idea what's wrong with that card? Like if its a defect, broke etc.?

I though you said you had Radeon x1550 Series lolol if you have a 6850 you should be fine. Did you try updating java?

So i had the 6850 and than it got the blue and black screen so i switched back to my old one "x1550" and now its not working. Before i got the 6850 the x1550 worked fine but now it doesn't run minecraft. My current java version is version 7 update 7.
if you switched back to your old video card there could be one of two things stoping you playing minecraft 1. The driver support no longer supports the verison of minecraft 1.3.2. Or you still have your 6850 drivers and its giving you problems.

Is there a way to uninstall it without putting it back in?
Go to add and remove programs and look for everything from ATI or Catalyst and remove it. it should take the other video drivers with it atlest it did for me your computer screen after the restart will probley default back to 800 x 600 dont freak out just got and redownload the drivers again from AMD
