That's weird, I answered this previously, but I guess your thread got deleted since you doubled posted. Here's the solution again. Move your Minecraft Folder to a place you like and create a Symbolic Link to it.
Copy to Terminal:
ln -s
Then, drag the Minecraft Folder from the new location to the Terminal Window. Next, copy
