So, after some advice I was given, I installed the mod Optifine. I heard that it could make Minecraft perform better, which it does. I have the render distance at short, the smooth lighting on 50%, the graphics at fast, I have performance at max FPS, I have chunk loading enabled at smooth and smooth FPS on as well. I also have 3 GB of memory allocated to Minecraft. Yet when I open a new world, it has run to as low as 12 FPS. I really don't understand this at all. The laptop I am using is brand new (I bought it just recently) and it is a pretty good computer. I have an Intel Core i3 processor at 2.4 GHz. I also have an Intel HD graphics card. So why is Minecraft not running at high performance?
