I wanted to know if anyone had this same issue. When I first log into Minecraft i'm able to play it just fine but after about a minute of playing it starts to lag REALLY bad. When I turn or press the inventory or press escape it takes about 30 sec to respond. Does anyone know why this happens and what I can do to fix it. I have a very good computer.
650 gb hard drive
8gb RAM
2.7 quad core proc
Nvidia 550 TI video card
windows 7 x64
please any help would be appreciated and please no trolling I really need help with this. It doesn't make sense why I can not run the game I was able to run it just fine with a lower end comp running vista 32 bit.
~Use Optifine
~Check for ALL updates; Bios, Video Drivers, Windows Updates, Java
~Allocate more ram to java/your game play
~Try Gamebooster
~Defrag your hard drive
~Set your minecraft settings to the lowest setting in Optifine.

Just a little run-down. Copypasta :W
Gamebooster doesn't work besides they got demanded for stealing someones stuff. is on the news and in every magazine PC
with that specs he won't have to lowest any settings in optifine , my son's computer have worst specs and runs at 150 fps using a 128x128 texture without allocating more memory.
and but thanks for supporting him

DO you use any program besides minecraft? while playing it? that can affect the performance too. check those programs and close them only the ones you're not using
The point of saying lower the settings was to get rid of that variable. The more variables [hopefully, all] you can remove from an experiment [fixing his lag filled gameplay for example] the easier it is to find the solution.
"If you aren't going to contribute, don't say anything"
Also, Gamebooster "doesn't work"? Well as far as I can tell it does its job for lower end specs computers. Which would be closing out unneeded processes to allow more power.
I'm not contributing ? HAHA yeah sure.
if he lower the settings
1)the problem probably get fixed but when he want to play fancy settings lag will go again and is not that specs are good for playing fancy
2)His computer is not a low-end computer is a medium to high end computer.
3)Being rude Won't make you more cooler
4)Before posting make sure you have try the options you're giving because it can lead to having more problems if you haven't try them by yourself.
And no i'm not mad at you i'm just explaining.
thanks
and as i said i already told him to try closing processes that he's not using , that can or will cause memory leaks.
1)You lower your settings and if your FPS increases, then one of the settings you had it set on could have not been very compatible with general use.
2)I didn't say His computer was slow or he had a low spec pc, I said gamebooster has helped on lower specs [I've had an older laptop, I know it works]
3)I wasn't rude, I said if you aren't going to offer anything then why post - rather than post something that I may not have and help him out if he still has trouble.
4)I've tried them all. I have used a 4gb i3 integrated graphics and now I have a top notch gaming rig. The standard fixes for low FPS don't even give a notable difference to be used on high end gaming rigs.
--And you added the second part [After "Regards"] after I had posted my response.
Well gentlemen I do appreciate all the input but my point is I am not running a low end computer. I can run GW2 on max settings and the same with Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft. Minecraft is less demanding then these three games and I can not run it. I will try each of these suggestions. Please understand that this computer is running off of a fresh install of windows 7 x64 and there are no unwanted processes running in the back ground.

that's why i told him about the gamebooster , but as i said ,probably memory leaks or you're running other programs in the back that requires demanding memory or java

I have exactly the same problem with my brand-new laptop. Minecraft reduces to less than 1 fps after about a minute but before that everything is fine. I've tried almost everything but so far nothing has worked yet. Allocating more memory to minecraft didn't do anything. Lowering video settings in the game is exceptionally useless as well. updating video drivers or java didn't do anything either for me. Haven't tried optifine yet although I doubt that will work since that mod is based on reducing processing power needed for graphics and stuff which is kind of the same as using lower settings only that program makes higher settings less demanding for the pc I think. I think there was other stuff you could try but I don't remember what that was and nothing else I tried worked either anyway.
I know this is not really helping to solve the problem but I thought I might save you some time trying out stuff that doesn't work anyway. Let me know if you find something that does work for you, it might work for me too. I would really appreciate it if you'd let me know when you found a solutionoh yeah, one thing I forgot: downgrading your minecraft to an earlier version doesn't work either so I wouldn't waste your time on that either if I were you.

I wasn't saying that you said anything wrong but I am not running anything else in the back ground. I was purely agreeing with what you said. I apologize if it came out that way. I am steadily looking for a fix and was hoping that someone who was having the same problem had a fix that didn't include using mods as I have a hard time installing them into the game. They never seem to work for me.
@thabest007 I will let you know if I find anything for sure. Hopefully I can get a dev response here.
