A few odd things are happening. In creative mode, if I try to move a tool in my pocket from one spot to another, it disappears. If I try to pick up a new one, I pick up 64 of them. I cannot fly. I move slower. This is a strange combination, isn't it? Did Minecraft set one button to do this for jokes? I'm confused.
In creative mode if you move an item to a slot that contains another item it gets deleted. Just pull what you want onto your hotbar.
You fly by double-tapping the jump key.
Hotbar... That's what I meant by pocket. I've been playing long enough to know these basics.
Just click once on the item and drag it, if you shift-click/right click you'll get the stack.
"The stack"? 64 exactly? So my right-clicker is broken? Not likely. That would make typing this very irritating.
You moving slower is your imagination.
I just tested that theory, and I believe it was lag. Strange though, I haven't been lagging all day. It must mean I pressed something I shouldn't have.
Do you have TMI installed?
TMI seemed to have so much glitches lately - items spontaneously turning into an infinite 64 stack even in survival mode, sneaking makes you sprint, etc.
Holding shift while clicking an item in creative mode from the block list will give you a complete stack. Shift and clicking an item on your hotbar will delete it. You're moving slower because shift is held down and you are sneaking. And because you are sneaking, it won't let you fly because that's the key to make you float back down.
Push shift 5 times, or hold shift and a different button and see if it goes away.

This actually sounds like quite a good theory, I just turned sticky keys off on my computer for Minecraft. Now I can spam shift all I want
This has to be it. I encountered the exact same problem when it was active. I snuck constantly, creative menu gave me stacks of items when I selected them, and the items would disappear from my hotbar. I also could only hover, never fly.
Turn StickyKeys off. I'm almost certain this is what is causing it.
Ahah! Shift key... This time upon entering, it reset itself. The time I checked earlier it didn't. The system occasionally forgets things... Thank you, good sir.
