I need some help to make Minecraft stop lagging on my computer!!!

Specs:

Brand: HP

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 830 Processor 2.80 GHz

Graphics: ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics

RAM: 6.00 GB

No Downloads or anything that will screw up my computer!!!!

Ok, so I know you don't want downloads. Neither did I. The best solution I can give you is what is below. It's easy, you don't have to mess with .jar files, and your MC will stop lagging.

Step 1: download the Magic Launcher.
Step 2: download Optifine.
Step 3: Double-click on the Magic Launcher and go to set-up. From there, click "add" and that will pop up a search of your computer. Select the Optifine file.
Step 4: Click the Optifine file and it will be added to Magic Launcher. Click OK, go back to the main menu and click "Login."
Step 5: Now log in every time with the Magic Launcher, not the normal MC launcher. This will apply Optifine and you will get an FPS boost of 50-200%.
Step 6: Enjoy!

Also you should turn your render distance to small or normal if your on far. If that still dos'nt work put it to tiny also put particles to minimal.

Sounds like your computer is already screwed up. That machine should be able to run MC with no problem. It sounds like you're running multiple programs - maybe on purpose, or maybe lots of malware.

Get some kind of virus or registery cleaner that maybe the problem.

I did a scan any there was no viruses or malware. I used Norton 360 by the way

Swap Harddrive for known good drive, install windows, java and minecraft. Test fps.

The most common cause of poor minecraft performance is running java 32 bit on a 64 bit machine. If you're running windows 7 64bit, make sure you have Java JRE 64bit. hey i downloaded 64 bit runs beautifully in creative flatgrass get around 50 - 60 FPS but 20 - 35 in Survival or a normal world (trees,lakes,deserts, mountains, etc...)

Oracle has autodetect stuff that complicates matters and people go there with a 32 bit browser and thus get 32bit java because of it.

OP you might look into how to tell java to launch minecraft with more ram since you have 6gigs. Default is only 1 Gig, try doubling it and see if it helps.

That CPU you've got there doesn't look too good for gaming, I would recommend changing it to something more high-end.
Your GPU is quite old and performs poorly compared to most new modern graphics cards out there.

Trust me, nothing else will fix your lag except new hardware.

One more thing. If you've got a laptop, nothing can be done, you would need a new system.


On flat grass it doesn't need to load a lot so your lag is less. On a normal map, it has oceans to load, mountains to load, new biomes....
The list goes on an on.

Yeah, get rid of that and get something better.
