I'm having trouble playing a hosted minecraft server (LANWorld) with my friend who is not on the same physical network that I am on. Is there a way for two or more people that are on different physical networks to play on the same hosted minecraft LAN server? We do not want to have to download our own server. We are trying to play together on a hosted LAN server. Is that possible? If so, how do we do it?
There is no possible way to play L.A.N on 2 different networks. If you want to play on 2 different networks, you will have to make your own server and port-forward it. But you could also rent a server with a dedicated host which will do all of the port-forwarding by itself.
If it's just you and your friend I could help you set up a server you can run, it won't be a L.A.N. server but it's really easy to use once you're set up. You'll need Skype.
