So I finally caved in bought Minecraft today. I've been trying to play for like an hour and it keeps wanting to shut off. Something about Memory bs. Here is what it gives me:
OUT OF MEMORY!
Minecraft has run out of memory.
This could be caused by a bug or by the Java Virtual Machine not being allocated enough memory. If you are playing in a web browser, try downloading the game and playing it offline.
To prevent level corruption, the current game has quit.
We've tried to free up enough memory to let you go back to the main menu and back to playing, but this may not have worked. Please restart the game if you see this message again.
^^And then it gives two buttons, one is "Back to Title Screen" which never works. And then the second button gives "Quit Game" which closes the program. It's so annoying, I can't actually play more than 5minutes before this happens! I've tried to figure out how to allocate more memory but right clicking and going to properties doesn't have anything that I can see. Please help !!!
Yes my avater is Dr. rabbit in twilight sparkle's hot air balloon she never used it anyway. And no im not a brony i get all Mlp names from the .mov seiries and from retarded Ytp's.

I hate MLP but the .mov seiries is retarded and funny and i used to watch the Ytp's that other people would do on it and i still watch them but they're not funny to me anymore. if you want to know where i got the avatar from just look up the grand galloping collab.
Okay, I found a tutorial about allocating memory on youtube. I tried this but when it gets to the step of copying it into the cmd prompt it says that "javaw" is not recognized as an internal or external command.

Its hard to say, there really isn't anything too wrong about MLP i guess its just my personality.
Well, it seems that its possible for you to come to like MLP. Should watch a little bit of the real episodes, not the .mov. Although .mov series is great.
Don't do anything else until you try using 64bit Java, which you are almost certainly not doing right now.
Start -> Internet Explorer (64bit) -> java.com
My java is running at 64bit. Even went through the whole process of uninstalling java and going to java.com and installing the 64bit java link ..had to search around for it cause i heard java 7 wasn't good so had to find the java 6 version

Remember, memory is not Harddrive memory, thats just storage.Also, which version of windows do you have?
Try allocating ram to minecraft. There are tutorials on how to do so. I would recommend 2GB.
Mine has 4 Gigs of Ram and minecraft runs at 300 FPS and i've never gotten an out of memory error
