When i normally play minecraft i have 150 or so fps and this is with a server running in the background and usally a youtube video going also. Now i have 6 fps and its ridicules and not only is it on my multiplayer world but my sp world as well. any help

Just recently actually i hadnt played in a couple days and came back to it and it was like this

Have you downloaded anything or changed any settings in the last couple of days, possible using a new snapshot?

I did try to do the snapshot but it didnt work

Windows 7 64 bit
intel core i3 cpu [email protected]
6gb of ram

Ok so it kinda worked and got me up to around 15 but still no where near where it should be. i cant record for my youtube series with 15 fps

Possibly you might not be getting enough electrical power or enough cooling. If there wasn't enough cooling from the start (meaning when you got your computer) it could have slowly been destroying your computer's hardware.. Also succesfully you might have a memory hogging program in the backgroud such as iTunes that didn't close properly and may still be running, so make sure minecraft is the only substantial program running. Assuming your using windows go over to the bottom of your screen, right-click, and then click "Start Windows Task Manager" and when it opens go to the "Processes" tab and organize by size. If anything abnormally large and you know what program it is and you think it's safe, Click end processe, do it. BE WARNED UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS DON'T CLOSE IT, YOU CAN SERIOUSLY SCREW UP SOME ****.
