We are running off the same wireless router in the house.
Both indicate their IP with the expected 192.168.1.xxx addresses buit when the other tries to connect it just times out.
Cannot find server...
You could try doing a direct connect to the server- the host is displayed it when they host the lan server for example:
"Local game hosted on 131.21.92.465:51736"

Obviously, Im a n00b - Firewall was blocking.
That worked!!
Only remaining problem is I would like to be able to specifically enable minecraft but it was not on the list to allow.
Had to turn the firewall off completely.
Any ideas?
