So I recently got a new alienware laptop and tried to download Minecraft. I already owned it on my old laptop and it ran fine. When I download the installer and open it, I get the messege:
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
I have Java downloaded and it works fine. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Retired StaffHead into the control panel.
Click on uninstall program
Look for java in that list. Uninstall it if it's there.
Head here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Download the latest version of 64 bit java
