Ok, I can play minecraft with little to no issue on multiplayer. When I go to single player, I have about 5 to 10 minutes of glorious gameplay until the game begins to chug. Shutting down the program and restarting it refreshes this window of gameplay until it begins to chug again.
FPS is around 30 to 40 solid until my game hits a brick wall. then I have fine fps interspersed with full freezing. Game becomes unresponsive for around 2 to 5 seconds. Sometimes longer. It usually goes about 2-4 seconds of able to move no issue, then 2-4 seconds of freeze. This does not occur at all when playing multiplayer. It does not stop until I restart the client. Here is the info on my OS and specs.
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
CPU: AMD Athlon 7850
RAM: 6GB DDR2
MoBo: ASRock K10N78D
GPU: GeForce GTX 550 Ti (EVGA)
Audio: Onboard
I'm assuming that it's a problem with the amount of RAM MC has. Try LOWERING the amount of ram the game has, which will force it to be more efficient RAM-wise.
I am in favor of this, you can try
