Hello, thank you for reading. I have a single core Toshiba laptop running Vista. I have used this machine to play minecraft since I bought the game in 2010. I have never gotten that great of performance, because in all honesty the laptop is not that great. I run at about 10-15 fps while using Optifine, and that has not changed with the 1.3 update. What has changed, is my SMP performance. Within a minute of joining any server and attempting to move around, I will bounce/teleport back to a spot I was previously in. I will then become stuck in this spot. Any attempt to move will be fruitless, I will just bounce right back to the spot I am stuck in. Sometimes I will get unstuck, but this is only on my screen. The server still acts as if I'm stuck in that same spot; I can't interact with anything out of range of that one spot. Upon relogging, I will be back in the spot I got stuck in, able to move for up to a minute before becoming stuck in some other spot.
That is my issue. I have determined the problem is not my internet connection, as I can play without any problems on another computer using the same router. This problem persists whether I have optifine installed or not, and this is the only mod I ever have installed. I have searched for other threads describing the same problem, but this issue has proven hard to search for. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you again for your time spent reading this.
well this has nothing to do with your frame rate or the performance of your computer. This is clearly an internet problem. you might wanna double check your internet connection.
If your connection is truly fine, then see if your firewall is blocking minecraft in any way (outgoing connections?). If this is not the case then just reply. I'll try to think of something
I get the stucking thing sometimes when i join a server but when i relog it's fixed.
if reloging won't help try restarting your router
i think your laptop and performance are the cause you could update your video card drivers to see if that fixed it
if you have massive lag in ssp you are most likely to have thiese kind of issues on smp.
sometimes when you login you could even fall out of the world(it happened to me alot on my other laptop)
hope this helps
I will set up a wired connection to my router and test this again. If that doesn't work I'll check my firewall settings. I'll report back with the results. Thank you for your replies.
